# Why Do I See a Yellow Banner on My Certificate Validation page?

## Explanation of the test notice when issuing from the Sandbox

The [Sandbox](https://help.virtualbadge.io/article/managing-your-sandbox-enviroment?hsLang=en)environment allows you to safely test your workflows before going live. You can use it to:

- Test automations that add recipients
- Simulate the full recipient journey (email delivery → credential access → validation page 

When you receive a test email to access your certificate or badge, just like a real recipient would. You may notice:

- The credential contains a visible **“Sample”** watermark
- The validation page displays a **yellow banner** indicating that this is a test certificate

This happens because the credential was issued from an organisation’s **Sandbox account**.

- Sandbox credentials are strictly for testing purposes and are **not intended for official or production use**.
- If you are a legitimate recipient but still see the yellow banner and watermark on your certificate, please contact the organization that delivered the training or course.
