Why Do I See a Yellow Banner on My Certificate Validation page?
Explanation of the test notice when issuing from the Sandbox
The Sandbox environment allows you to safely test your workflows before going live. You can use it to:
-
Test automations that add recipients
-
Simulate the full recipient journey (email delivery → credential access → validation page
When you receive a test email to access your certificate or badge, just like a real recipient would. You may notice:
-
The credential contains a visible “Sample” watermark
-
The validation page displays a yellow banner indicating that this is a test certificate

This happens because the credential was issued from an organisation’s Sandbox account.
-
Sandbox credentials are strictly for testing purposes and are not intended for official or production use.
-
If you are a legitimate recipient but still see the yellow banner and watermark on your certificate, please contact the organization that delivered the training or course.
