Does Virtualbadge.io Require Access to My LinkedIn Account?
Understanding LinkedIn permissions when sharing your badge
When you choose to add or share a badge on LinkedIn, an authorization step is required. This is a standard LinkedIn process that applies to any third-party platform connecting to your account.
LinkedIn controls the wording of the permission message you see during this step. The message reflects the technical access level required to enable features such as adding a badge to your profile or sharing it to your news feed.
Virtualbadge.io does not post anything to LinkedIn automatically.
Your badge will only be added to your profile or shared on your feed if you actively choose to do so.

Why does LinkedIn request certain permissions?
LinkedIn structures access into different permission levels. Some of these permissions may sound broad, but they are required in order for LinkedIn to technically allow actions such as:
-
Adding a badge to your “Licenses & Certifications” section
-
Sharing your badge to your LinkedIn news feed
Virtualbadge.io will never:
-
Edit your posts
-
Delete your posts
-
Modify your comments or reactions
The permissions requested are strictly used to enable the sharing functionality you initiate.
Can I remove access later?
Yes. After successfully sharing your badge, you can disconnect Virtualbadge.io from your LinkedIn account at any time.
You can manage or revoke access directly through:
-
Your LinkedIn privacy settings
-
The connected apps section within your LinkedIn account
This gives you full control over the connection at all times.
