# Deleting Recipients

## How to remove recipients and what happens when they’re deleted

Deleting recipients from your system is a simple process. However, it's important to understand the consequences of deleting a recipient, especially in relation to email links, validation pages, and credits.

#### **How to Delete Recipients:**

1. Navigate to the **Recipients** tab.
2. Select the recipient you want to delete.
3. Click on the **trash icon** to remove them.

#### **What Happens When a Recipient is Deleted?**

- **If the email has not been sent:**
  
    - The recipient will be **permanently deleted**.

- **If the email has already been sent and opened:**
  
    - The recipient will no longer be able to re-download the certificate and will be redirected to a page indicating that the certificate is no longer available.

- - The validation page will display a "not found" message.

    - Any social media posts made by the recipient will remain, but the validation link will no longer be functional.
- **If the email was sent but not opened:**
  
    - If the recipient is deleted before opening the email, they will experience the same behavior as described above when attempting to access their certificate.

**What Happens to Used Credits?**

Credits for deleted recipients will **not be refunded**. Once a recipient has been deleted, their credits are not reimbursed.

Deleting recipients is straightforward, but it's important to understand the impact on their ability to access certificates and the effect on your credits. Be sure to review any deletion carefully, especially if the email has already been sent.
