How to remove recipients and what happens when they’re deleted
Deleting recipients from your system is a simple process. However, it's important to understand the consequences of deleting a recipient, especially in relation to email links, validation pages, and credits.
How to Delete Recipients:
- Navigate to the Recipients tab.
- Select the recipient you want to delete.
- Click on the trash icon to remove them.
What Happens When a Recipient is Deleted?
-
If the email has not been sent:
- The recipient will be permanently deleted.
- They will lose access to the validation page, and will no longer be able to download the certificate PDF.
-
If the email has already been sent and opened:
- The recipient will no longer be able to re-download the certificate.
- The validation page will no longer be available, showing a "not found" message.
- Social media links will still exist, but the validation link will no longer work.
-
If the email was sent but not opened, or hasn’t been sent yet:
-
Deleting the recipient will have the same effect as above: no access to the certificate or validation page.
-
What Happens to Used Credits?
Credits for deleted recipients will not be refunded. Once a recipient has been deleted, their credits are not reimbursed.
Deleting recipients is straightforward, but it's important to understand the impact on their ability to access certificates and the effect on your credits. Be sure to review any deletion carefully, especially if the email has already been sent.
